Life Goes On

The sad thing about happiness is that there’s always the looming fear that things are going to get worse. I think history would tell us that no is happy 100% of the time and when you’ve reached a peak in happiness and honestly enjoy your life, the only place to go is down. Just me being pessimistic but I can’t help it..

Promises are a funny thing. Sometimes I question why people say they’ll do things when in actuality we all know there’s a possibility they won’t. I’ll admit at times even I can’t keep to my word. Doesn’t make it bother me less, and I almost rarely will you see me go back on my word. Oh well though, for most people it’s only about small minor things that aren’t worth getting upset over.

I realized that posting everyday was a little unrealistic. There will probably be a post of some kind but not about the day, there just simply isn’t enough going on everyday but what do you expect from a college student.But don’t worry! There’s so many random things on the internet to see! (That’s what I’m currently doing)v

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university lecturer. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.

Offering his guests coffee, the lecturer went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups: porcelain, plastic, glass, some plain-looking and some expensive and exquisite, telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the lecturer said: “If you noticed, all the nice-looking, expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the better cups and are eyeing each other’s cups.”

“Now, if Life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn’t change. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it.”

So today I realized I must have an amazing immune system! She got the flu and I didn’t which is really odd. Let’s just say there were many times when it should have been passed to me lol.
