Selective Mutism
Shyness and quietness can actually be a anxiety disorder. I doubt I have it but it just shows how it can be a harder thing to deal with than people understand, I don’t how many times I’ve been told “just talk more” and literally wanted to scream at the person that it isn’t that easy..

Religion
I think I have found the religious view that most describes the way I feel. Possibilianism.
Possibilianism is a philosophy which rejects both the idiosyncratic claims of traditional theism and the positions of certainty in atheism in favor of a middle, exploratory ground. Possibilianism is distinguished from agnosticism in its active exploration of novel possibilities.

Ignorant Christians
So chances are you’ve heard the argument by Christians that there has to be a creator because if the Earth was 10ft closer to the sun we all burn and if it were 10ft farther away we’d all freeze. Well this isn’t true at all. There’s an area surrounding any star such as our sun that can sustain an earth-like planet. This area is called the habitable zone. Earth could...

Singularity
Recently I’ve been hearing quite a bit about this thing called singularity. It’s actually a little scary. Basically it describes how sometime in the near future we will create smarter than human intelligence, whether it be all artificial intelligence of some sort of biological/technological mix. Because it is a greater than human intelligence the idea suggests that we can’t...

In India they’re allowed to marry a dog, yes an actual dog, but we don’t even have same-sex marriage in America?

Lets try something new
I think for fun we should all start saying “said that she did” instead of that’s what she said. It’s just a little bit cooler.

Miss Universe
The recently crowning of a new Miss America who plans to compete for the Miss Universe title has got me thinking. (Warning: get ready for a lot of numbers) Over the years there have been 60 women crowned Miss Universe, all being from Earth. I know this probably seems a bit ridiculous but what I find even more ridiculous is that there are estimated between 100 to 200 billion galaxies in our...

Germany
“The only time it is seen as okay to be waving the German flag is at sport events and official buildings. The rest of the time the fear of feeling national pride is too big. It is in fact so bad that some Germans even feel uncomfortable when they see other countries waving it at hotels and the like.”
This may be a little extreme but I can definitely see the logic behind it. There can...

Lazy is another word for efficient
Over eons of evolution humans have learned that they will survive longer and better if they conserve their energy. We’ve learned that we want to spend enough energy to have enough resources (food, water, sex, shelter), but beyond that we are wasting our energy if we spend too much time running around getting stuff.
Thank you for defending me science.
